The Coyote Coast (volume one)
The Bear People
The year is 2080. Due to environmental and economic collapse, America is half a decade into a continent-wide Civil War. Led by itinerant farmers, geo-engineers, and political radicals-the Pacific Coast has seceded from the American Government to form the Pacific People’s Collective. After five long years, they are still standing, but the American Government has started a renewed offensive to reclaim its old borders.
On a mission in the Monterey Bay, American Captain Sanzinger Canon and her crew are taken hostage by pirates and sold to the enemy, an anarchist military division known as “the Bear People.” Captain Canon is a brutal woman, capable and smart like her military trained her to be, but she has never faced an enemy like she finds on the raw, climate-decimated shores of central California, also known as The Coyote Coast.
What follows is an adventure that involves prison escape, radical hippies, communist spies, blackfish tacos, murder, prophecy, hormone therapy, a winner-takes-all fighting tournament, a bear, and a rebirth of ancient spirits on the California coastline.
